Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier (1887–1965), born Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, was a Swiss-French architect, designer, and urban planner, widely regarded as one of the pioneers of modern architecture. Known for his philosophy of functionalism and the use of clean, geometric forms, he sought to create spaces that balanced practicality with beauty. His influential works include the Villa Savoye in France and the Unité d’Habitation in Marseille, which showcased his vision of efficient, modern living. Beyond architecture, Le Corbusier also designed iconic furniture such as the LC4 Chaise Longue and LC2 armchair, blending comfort with minimalist aesthetics. His ideas continue to shape architecture and design around the world.
