Charles Eames (1907–1978) was an American designer, architect, and filmmaker, best known for his pioneering contributions to modern furniture design alongside his wife, Ray Eames. Together, they created some of the most iconic pieces of the 20th century, including the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, molded plywood chairs, and innovative fiberglass seating. Their work combined functionality, comfort, and elegance, while embracing new materials and industrial production techniques. Beyond furniture, the Eameses also explored architecture, exhibitions, and film, leaving a lasting legacy that continues to influence design, art, and culture worldwide.
